This is a nice, modest day dress, with a good amount of stretch in the material. (Read: works for those curves on top.) Not quite an empire waist, as it almost hits at my natural waist, but I have a short torso. Long enough in size medium to hit right below my knees (I'm 5'2). I'm petite and curvy. Have always liked this style on me. However I've got excess weight now so was concerned how this would look. I like this dress because it's very comfortable, the material isn't too thin or too thick, and it looks very pretty. I chose a size bigger than I normally wear because I don't want it to cling. It doesn't look too big because of the empire waist. This reminded me I should buy a few more of these. The pattern also covers any imperfections.
